Bellarine-Estate-James-Paddock-Chardonnay---Geelong
Bellarine Estate James Paddock Chardonnay - Geelong
Food Paring
Roast Shellfish, particularly lobster and moreton bay bugs
Tasting Tips
Light honeycomb, almond and stonefruit on a rich and glossy palate - attractive oak lends a little spiciness. There’s a bit of flinty grip and a spicy grapefruit tinged finish but overall it’s a bigger style of wine, but one that’s balanced and pleasingly drinkable.
Winery
Peter and Lizette Kenny of Bellarine Estate established their 12 ha vineyard in 1995 on the black basalt hills of the Bellarine Peninsula, just off the main Geelong-Portarlington Road. The main focus is on the Geelong area''s strengths, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but also they also grow Shiraz, Viognier, Riesling and Merlot and an unusual Sauvignon Blanc that tends to have a hint of banana (it tastes a lot better than it sounds).
