This deeply coloured wine has a spicy nose and lovely rounded palate with savoury characters and just a hint of sweet cherry fruit. The tannins are very fine, and the wine is drinking well now, but will cellar up to 2013.
Winery
Boireann is a small winery on the Granite Belt - Queenslands Premier Wine Region, and is dedicated to producing quality red wines. The vineyard is planted on fine granitic sands at an altitude of 875m. Cool nights during the growing season delay ripening, allowing intense flavours to develop. The vineyard is given hands on care throughout the year and the wine is made in the traditional manner, using open fermentations, basket pressing and barrel ageing before being bottled on site.
