Tasting Tips
An elegant and accessible wine. The Chianti Classico is a stylish blend of Sangiovese with a nose of morello cherry, leather and tobacco giving way to a mineral-textured palate enveloped by the trademark chalky Sangiovese tannins. Colour : Red ruby and black. Nose: Red fruit aromas with hints of vanilla. Palate: Well-balanced with good structure and nice length with fruity flavours.

Winery
Vinification: Refined for 7 months in Inox - Thermo-controlled containers then in used barrique fermentation for 15-20 days. Bottle refined for 6 months. Soil: Grown at a height of 409m above sea level in a Calcareous soil. Poderi Castellare di Castellina is a company of about 80 hectares in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, close to the village of Castellina in Chianti. The hectares of vineyard are almost 33, located on the hills of a natural amphitheatre facing southeast. The production is of about 250.000 bottles of wine per year. To a middle altitude of 370 m. above sea level the vineyards have an age between 5 and 30 years.
