This Domaine occupies one of the world’s most beautiful vineyard settings in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail nature reserve in Provence in the hills above the picturesque medieval village of Gigondas. About 4 kilometres from Gigondas and at 300m altitude, it is a magical spot filled with vineyards, wild herbs, walks, rock climbs and panoramic views. The Domaine was founded in 1970 by Gerard Paillet’s father-in-law who purchased the vineyards and built the cellar. Paillet took over with the 1996 harvest and increased the ripeness of the harvest to turn the wines into richer, more powerful, mineral, flavour-packed expressions of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
