The Muller family own just 7 hectares in the famous Scharzhofberg vineyard in Wiltingen, which lies on the River Saar, not far from where it drains into the Mosel, just downstream from Saarburg. The family exploit their single vineyard holding to the full, and consequently are ranked among the region's top wine producers. The estate has been in the hands of the Muller family since the late 18th century. The Scharzhofberg vineyard is typically well drained slate.
