This French variety has made itself at home adapting extremely well to the granite traprock soils and cool climate of the Granite Belt. This full-bodied dark rich wine displays aromas of chocolate and spicy blackcurrants. The smooth yet rich textured palate is full up front with plenty of ripe fruit melting into firm tannins and a soft oak finish.

Home of the Costanzo family who''s rich Italian Heritage is reflected in sumptuous, and rich wines. The first shiraz vines were planted in the 1970s, followed by a full planting program of other classic wine grapes. The altitude of 820m and cool summer climate make the area ideal for growing classic wine grape varieties - perfect for producing award winning wines. Golden Grove Estate was rated 4.5 stars in the James Halliday 2010 wine companion and is now one of only three wineries in the state currently rated 4.5 stars and above.
