Meaty and a bit rubbery with dried herbs, blackcurrant, red fruits and lots of spice. Medium bodied, fresh and stalky with juicy fruit, a slightly tinny acid twang (in a positive sense) and plenty of drive and length through the palate. Touch of bitterness on the finish, but again a positive. It’s a challenging wine in many respects but one that works and hangs together very well. Plenty of energy and soul. Rated : 94 points.
