Tasting Tips
This wine has loads of sweet berry fruit aromas; boysenberries and blackberries with some plum fruit characters as well. Lovely ripe fruit aromas with some sweet oak characters and no hint of leafiness. The sweet blackberry fruit flavours are complemented by the attractive tannins, giving the wine good length and depth. The wine is well balanced with good structure. It also has the structure to handle some bottle age and should continue to drink well until 2010.

The warm dry summers and cool wet winters provide ideal conditions for viticulture and allow Gavin to keep a natural balance in the vineyard – natural balanced vine growth with no chemical intervention. The soils are low in fertility resulting in low yielding vines (less than 3T/acre) with small berried fruit of great flavour and colour
