Tasting Tips
"I really enjoyed the pinots from Muddy Water. The Slowhand Pinot which has very limited availability, is more lush and supple, with raspberry and cherry flavours." San Jose Mercury News, Laurie Daniel, June 15 2008. " Slightly misty, orange - tinged red in colour, soft preserved plum and red leather nose, with just a hint for dried autumn leaves/forest floor character on the nose. The front has a beautiful, silky texture, couching subtle plum and redcurrent flavours before a great earthy depth takes control through the mid palate. the finish is long, fine and savoury. Unusually refined, and very good." Truewines, David Stewart, 20/01/08.

Winery
Cold, frosty winters, warm dry summers and dry sunny autumns provide intensely flavoured ripe grapes. Our soils are loam over calcarious clay on limestone bedrock, ideal for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, mirroring the Burgundian soils that are the natural home of these great varieties.
