Ripe cherry red, paling at the edges. Spicy on the nose, redolent with roasted red berries, red currants and black cherry, this Merlot imparts a slight fragrant note. Juicy and underwritten by red berries, plump cherries and chocolate, this fine Merlot is wrapped up in lovely warm, ripe, rich and supple tannins. On the lengthy and persistent finish, hints of spice and cedar are evident.

From its first production of 141 cases of 1995 Shiraz, Pennys Hill has established a fine reputation for outstanding vineyards from which acclaimed wines have emerged. Very much a part of the recent McLaren Vale landscape, the Pennys Hill story commenced over twenty years ago. From its beginnings on bare grazing land upon which cows and sheep had long trod, the brand is now reflected in some of the very best quality vineyards in the region which are sold to loyal and appreciative wine lovers
