Vivid, deep garnet with blue hues. The nose is bright and lifted with sweet blackberries, dark rose petals, crème de cassis, ripe raspberries, praline, bitter chocolate, coffee, earth and subtle wood smoke/toast with a hint of jasmine tea. A full bodied wine displaying complex flavours that range through red plum, ripe raspberry and subtle wood spice. The palate is tightly structured with a bright long finish. Although drinking beautifully now, cellaring will reward.

"...We started Spinifex in 2001 with the opportunity to source some great old vine Mataro growing in deep white drift-sand on the Barossa Valleys’ Western Ridge. Our focus is on making regional wines from the traditional Mediterranean grape varieties that have been grown successfully in Australia for over 150 years - Shiraz, Mataro, Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan, Ugni Blanc, Grenache Gris, Marsanne and Semillon."
