All Saints Marsanne - Rutherglen
Vintage: 2016 Region: VictoriaType: Whites
Winery: All Saints
Tasting Notes:
This wine is made from locally grown Marsanne grapes to create a crisp, refreshing wine packed with distinctive Marsanne fruit flavours of lemon, peach and honey. Light to medium bodied with a minerally character and good acid on the finish which provides great structure and ensures it is very food-friendly.
"A number of Rutherglen estates are making tricked-up marsanne with plenty of oak and lees work, and in every case I prefer the younger, fresher and cheaper entry version. All Saints cleverly puts this wine over the lees of the big boy and gives it a little time in oak, but the focus remains resolutely on the lifted fragrance of lemon blossom and frangipane. There’s a lemon butter and frangipane exuberance to the palate, too, held neatly in place by refreshingly focused crunchy pear fruit, tight acidity and lingering texture. Drink 2013-2014". - 92 Points Wine Taste Weekly Special Edition 110 - Rutherglen Wine Taste Weekly, 2 April 2013.
