Bruno Clair Chambolle Musigny Les Veroilles - Marsannay-la-Cote, Cote-d Or, Burgundy

Vintage: 2013 Region: France
Type: Reds
Winery: Domaine Bruno Clair
Tasting Notes:

The wines are well scented, silky and gain in texture and length. Thanks to their natural finesse, they can be drunk young or kept in storage for a few years.

Chambolle-Musigny les Veroilles, 1,5138 ha - 3.74 acres.

Several small plots given up after the phylloxerna crisis, belonging either to the commune of Chambolle-Musigny or to individuals, were rented in order to form two larger and usable plots.
Planted in 1989, in soil favourable to the vine (planted in the 18th and 19th century), but uncultivated since, to produce a wine resulting from a commune which is dear to me for the finesse and the elegance of its wines. The venture appeared very positive because since 1992, first harvest of this vineyard, the wines have been fine and silky. With the years passing and the increasingly deeper rooting of the vines, the wines become more extensive and deep.

Bruno Clair founded the estate that bears his name in 1979. Based out of Marsannay at the Northern extremity of the Cote de Nuits, the estate now covers 24 hectares of vineyards stretching the length of the Cote d'Or with the most substantial holdings in Gevrey-Chambertin. Winemaker Philippe Brun shows a deft hand, producing powerful wines that speak of the regions terroir from the stunning Grand Cru of Chambertin-Clos de Bèze and Bonnes Mares through to the entry level Marsannay Blanc. Elegance, power and structure are the themes across the range for the wines of Bruno Clair.
